We are currently seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers, offering engineering, and manufacturing technical assistance, preparing quotes, and successfully delivering projects from start to finish.

To excel in this position, you should have a background in engineering manufacturing heavy equipment.  We are looking for a practical and knowledgeable Mechanical Engineer with experience in successfully executing specialty projects. You should enjoy multitasking and solving complex problems and be detail-oriented with firsthand experience in machining and fabrication environments. At Waycon, we value a diversified team, and it would not be unusual for our mechanical engineers to get involved in the manufacturing process.

Skills
  • Product design.
  • Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Competence in estimating, costing, and project management.
Duties
  • Maintain and build client relationships.
  • Review RFQs and prepare quotes.
  • Design and develop equipment and systems.
  • Prepare drawings and specifications.
  • Plan, execute, and monitor projects, including procurement and budget management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Attend site visits and meetings as required.
  • Perform other assigned duties, as necessary.
Education/Experience Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, P. Eng., or Mechanical Technologist.
  • 7+ years of experience in engineering and equipment design, and manufacturing.
  • 5+ years of experience in estimating and project management.
Job Requirements
  • Exposure to various manufacturing processes (fabrication and CNC machining).
  • High standards in workmanship, quality, and safety.
  • Excellent prioritization, planning, and execution skills.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication abilities.
Working Hours
  • Day shift: Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM.
